USB harddisk: ntfs or ext4?
#1
I just purchased a USB harddisk and am about to set it up. My main pc has windows so if I format NTFS I can connect it there easily as well. I could also format ext4 as XBMC live is linux based, and use a driver in windows. Is there any preference for either when connected to XBMC?

Well, NTFS on Linux is very slow as it uses FUSE. It should be fast enough though to play any video. However if you want to copy lots of files from and to your harddisk, you should probably use ext4. If you only copy files on Windows and just watch them with XBMC, NTFS is fine.
