XBMC cannot see crystalHD after program restart
#1
hi there

I'm using the xbmc dharma beta 2 on ATV
for some reason when killing the XBMC process (by using the kill -9 command) after some addon problems occur, the xbmc stops seeing the crystal HD when kicked off again
only after a reboot I'm being able to see the card again.

any ideas?

thanks
Simon

yep, when you kill xbmc, it leaves the crystalhd driver in a borked state which a reboot clears.

do you think using the kextload command might solve that problem without reboot?
i.e.
/sbin/kextload -v /System/Library/Extensions/BroadcomCrystalHD.kext

no, the kext is already loaded.

Would there be another option to solve this? Strange this still hasn't been completely solved.

Is there no way of writing a driver which cuts power and then gives power, or an addon which cuts power to the CHD and than starts it up again?
