No judder anymore when disabling A/V sync...
#1
Hi

i ve been looking for a way to achieve a perfect playback of my 23.976fps rips for some weeks now, but until yesterday, i couldnt find any solution. (even with all threads on this forum)

In fact, my problem is that when enabling a/v sync (to audio clock), the refresh rate is 23.971 instead of 23.976, and that creates some frame skipping (every 1 minute) because Xbmc speeds up the playback by 0.10%

Yesterday, i disabled any a/v sync method, and after 20 min of test on a 23.976 fps mkv file, it seems any judder disappeared.
I checked on XBMC log and refresh rate seems ok, no speed up, but i can see many discontinuity errors.
As i didnt notice anything when watching the video, i can deal with it, but i may need to watch a complete movie to be sure i will not face any a/v de synchronisation.

I will post my feedback later this week, but i hope i found the solution to my problem.

BTW, i m running Ubuntu 10.10 + xbmc standalone Dharma RC2 on a Asus AT3IONT with 2 GB DDR3.
