I know nothing about linux.
I have had a working install of XBMC now for over a year. After doing an update XBMC no longer works. I get the "XBMC needs hw accerated OpenGL Drivers" message. I have researched how to fix that but I can't figure out how to get back to the command prompt to do the fix.
When I start the machine it goes directly into XBMC. But now I get the error message with an option to "quit". Unfortunately, pressing quit simply cycles me back to the error box over and over again. How can I either exit that error dialog box or bypass XBMC on startup? When I press the power button the machine simply powers down. Esc doesn't do it. On startup the only option I see is at the grub menu. There, I can choose either Ubuntu or Unbuntu recovery. Both end up taking me to the borked XBMC.
