[XBMC 10.0] sound issue
#1
Hi @ll
I use XBMC on a dedicated PC* for many years without any problem. Ever since I installed version 10.0, I have "cracks" while i listen to my audio files (MP3) but no problem in movies with AC3 or DTS track.
Does anyone have an idea (knowing that I've never encountered this problem with other versions)?

* my config: Windows XP SP3, Core2duo @ 3Ghz, nvidia GeForce 7100 DVI-> HDMI, Audio: C-media optical-> amp

Could be a latency problem check using DPC latency checker or latency mon. When using dpc latency checker there are not supposed to be any large red spikes in the graph
If there are it could be a sign of a latency problem.

Also this prog http://www.lucashale.com/timerresolution/ is supposed to help with latency.
There is a couple of threads about latency issues may be useful http://www.sevenforums.com/sound-audio/7...tency.html

Do you know what version of XBMC you had before 10.0? It might help narrow down the issue. Also, posting a debug log onto pastebin would probably help any devs trying to figure out the problem.

It's relatively easy to find and post a debug log. See my sig for how to post a windows problem to get it.

Thank you for answers !

@ gav1577
I've tried DPC latency checker and there is absolutely no problem

@natethomas
I had 9.11 final before 10 version. I've read the link in your sig and i will post a debug log as soon as possible. Thanks.

This issue is really weird : i can play a film with a MP3 track without problem but an MP3 audio file is awful... :confused2:
