How do I stream music to XBMC using UPnP / DLNA?
#1
I've been looking for a way to stream music from my PC to another computer running XBMC. This should be possible using DLNA/UPnP, but I have not come across any tutorial that explains this in a simple way.

More specifically, I would like Foobar2000 (running on my desktop computer) controlling the sound that will come out of XBMC (running on my HTPC). The content is all stored on the Foobar computer. XBMC should simply act as a player, and perhaps also display some information about the item that's being played at the moment.

Now, there is a UPnp plugin for Foobar2000 that should be able to do this, but I cannot get it to work. Does anyone know how to do this? I've tried adding a UPnp source in the "Music" section of XBMC, and it will detect the Foobar server. On this server I've chosen "Playback stream capture" (which seems like the obvious choice), but when I use this I only hear noise...

Can someone give me a few pointers?
