Hello everyone.
I am coming at this question from a different path. Is there certain Ubuntu, its friends or 3rd party repos that one would want to avoid when installing a new Ubuntu 10.10 86_64 system? I would imagine the answer would be fluid as packages can change, break, then update so nothing would be concrete.
But is there certain packages to avoid updating? Or browsers to be careful of? Or flashplugin versions or architectures like the new 10.3 flashplugin?
I installed Ubuntu 10.10 86_64, Boxee.tv, XBMC and Mythtv.24 along with Mindfield 4.0 (firefox 4) and updated everything and XBMC broke. So did Boxee.tv. THEN, I installed everything listed above except updated nothing that was not forced to update. Now, everything runs very well. My result is my answer... but do people that know more here do the same? Or just know what is needed to update?
