Acer AspireRevo R3700 (Atom D525+ION2) Linux Flash player question
#1
Hi, this is my first post here and I'm considering getting an XBMC box for our soon-to-be-Cat6-wired house. I'm aware that by far the best option for the hardware would be some form of AspireRevo, since it's small and has a real graphics card. Ebuyer sell the R3700 in the UK, and it has a 160GB HDD, 2GB of RAM and comes with Linpus Linux. Unfortunately, some content (e.g. BBC iPlayer) will require Flash to be installed, and I'm aware that Flash has no hardware acceleration on Linux and is generally a pig. Would most Flash content play back well enough on Linux when it only has a dual core Atom?

No, the Atom doesn't cut it with Flash by itself.

If it really matters to you use the Flash beta:

Or build/buy something with more CPU.
