[LIVE] HA-IR01SV remote not working - Dharma/Revo 3700
#1
I just ran through a fresh install of the XMBC Live current release on a Revo 3700 following a great guide on the forums here. (http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=88369) The only difference being that I used the plain Live install distro, not XMBCfreak. So far, most of it runs great.

The only snag is the HA-IR01SV remote I picked up for it isn't working. The receiver unit has a solid red light on when plugged in.

It does show up in lsusb when connected (as "TopSpeed" something or other - can't remember the exact text off hand - at work at the moment).

There's no lirc# device in /dev though

I tried purging and reinstalling lirc based on other threads I found about fixing remote issues, but that didn't change anything.

I do have 2 units, so I tried swapping out the receiver and the other one behaves in the same manner.

Is there something easy I'm missing? Is remote support just broken with this combination (Revo 3700 + Dharma)

Thanks for the info! I'll give that a whirl tonight.

Update: worked like a charm! Thanks a bunch.

Slight difference from the rbrohman's post for my case:

The directory to CD to was: /usr/src/lirc-0.8.6/drivers/lirc_mceusb

I added:
/* Topseed HA-IR01SV */
{ USB_DEVICE(VENDOR_TOPSEED, 0x0011) },

After the other topseed items in lirc_mceusb.c and rebuilt and it worked straight away.

I wasted a bunch of time on/off over the last week before luckily finding rbrohman's info, so I'm glad to hear I was able to help save some time!

I knew there was a way to fix LIRC with this dongle; just couldn't find the right thread since there were so many different manufacturers for the same unit.
