I recently went with a 3700 Acer revo which I planned on using ubuntu for Xbmc.

Alas, the box came with windows 7 installed, I already knew that this box would be fine running Xbmc through windows but this is where it fails.

Gaming.

Now I know that this is not what this nettop was built to handle but after trying some games I own that are already compatible with a xbox360 controller I got drawn into wanting to play serious Sam hd and a few select others through my Xbmc box. The Acer revo couldn't push through 16fps on most games and couldnt run the java based game Minecraft well at all.

So I am looking for suggestions on a box that would be able to handle "light" gaming and still function as a small form factor nettop that is quiet/silent.

I appreciate any input.

That machine looks pretty decent!

Although I wasnt looking to spend that much money. Could you recommend something inbetween my current revo and this Asrock?

Appreciate it!

Your best bet then is to wait a little to see what the top fusion system is.

Or do what my pal has recently done. Built his own! Smile

Bloody thing is like lightening and cost him just under £350!
Puts my Revo R3610 to shame and it's only slightly bigger.
