Custom audio track or dubs in separate files
#1
Hello,

I have a lot of separate .flac files for my movies, but unfortunately XBMC does not seem to support audio tracks in separate files the way it supports subtitle tracks in separate files.

I know it's possible to mux the tracks, but it's very cumbersome, very unflexible and not user friendly. Also, times are changing. Lossless audio is becoming more and more popular by the day, while many encoders want to retain backward compatibility with S/PDIF and have the smallest file size possible. Thus they often offer a separate flac or LPCM track.

Therefore, I would like to request that this feature be considered for future development. Thanks!

Agreed.

Why? Here's one example: this would allow someone to rip director's commentaries from DVDs for playback with an alternate version (ie a bluray remux). Most groups don't include them in the final mux, and some people like having them around. You could mux them into the file yourself, but that kills any opportunity to further seed the now-modified files.
