I am currently running a standart onboard-card with a cambridge 610D "soundsystem". But the intregraded amp grown old and pass the 60Hz AC-Source frequency down to the subwoofer. So i have a permanent noise level. Now i plan to exchange the subwoofer.
If i invest in a dedicated A/V-Receiver + new Subwoofer i have to spend the double of my HD-TV. But i don't know the outcome/quality
The HTPC/XBMC is the main MediaSource for Audi/Video in my setup. Video-scaling, -improvement and so one is done by the video-card. I would prefer the same for the sound-pipeline.
Decoding/Resampling ans splitting to x-channels done my XBMC/sound-card and hand over to the (active)soundsystem.
Has someone experience with the (quality) differences between xbmc/soundcard-decoding and the A/V-Receivers like Arcam AVR500?
