Hi folks.

I noticed that my TVs (Samsung UE46c6200) implemented media system is able to play over 95% of my movies.
playing 720p, 1080i, 1080p was not a problem, only one movie couldnt be played: Apocalypto (samsung don't support the codec for this movie)

I think that tv manufacturer are starting to implement/replace htpc.
what do you think

My bedroom Samsung plays a similar amount of formats. Problem is, that 10% or so of codecs it can't play mean I won't be getting rid of my HTPC any time soon.

It also took me a long time to sort out connection to my NAS though as there are som specific folder structure requirements on DLNA.

The GUI is nowhere near as good as XBMC either.

I'm sure they'll get there in the end - but not until they add XBMC direct.

I completely agree with you, but I'm also very surprised that thay can play full hd movies smoothly.
what about DRM ? it should be fully supprted or not?
