Hello everybody first of all sorry for my English
I am using XBMC for about one year it is the best thing ever happened to me but the problem started after I bought this new laptop:
HP g62 notebook
Intel® Core™ i3-350M Processor 2.26 GHz, Level 3 cache 3 MB
ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470 Graphics (switchable)
3 GB DDR3 memory
monitor (15.6") diagonal High-Definition LED HP BrightView Display(highest res 1366x768)

I use XBMC dharma rc2 live booting from USB HDD using unetbootin ...when I choose to boot ATI graphic option (same thing with nvidia and intel option) I see the XBMC logo but next XBMC login screen shows up ...I enter xbmc as username and password then i get stuck at a terminal thing (commandline) (I am completely linux dumb I never used linux but I desperately need XBMC live Sad) when I use xbmc.9.11.live it shows blank screen. windows version works perfectly
I used XBMC live the same versions above on my old laptop (HP pavilion core2duo 2.1 , nvidia 8400 m, and they work just fine never shows the login screen)

is it a problem with the ATI driver or what?
why is that happening to me what should I do I searched the forum and got lost Blush

Download latest live cd:
http://xbmc.org/download/

Then burn it and try starting with it. You are using an older version.
PointOfView Nvidia ION Atom 330 - TRANSCEND 2GB DDR2 DIMM 800MHz - G.SKILL 64GB SSD 2.5

thank you my friend I downloaded the latest version the same thing is happening again I`m stuck at boot screen and commandline thing......by the way I downloaded ubuntu and ran it from live usb and it worked just fine but it asked me to download the ati driver from the following link http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/re...3_i386.deb

so I suppose it is an ATI driver issue so how can I combine/install the ATI driver to XBMC live ? or the problem is completely something else

If you want to try and install that driver you can just:
Code:
wget http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/restricted/f/fglrx-installer/fglrx-amdcccle_8.723.1-0ubuntu3_i386.deb

then to install it:
Code:
sudo dpkg -i fglrx-amdcccle_8.723.1-0ubuntu3_i386.deb
