[RELEASE] - Vortex for Win32
#16
New version:Vortex-1.0.1

Fixed: Black screen if installed to AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons
Fixed: Failed to start due to missing DirectX files
Fixed: Voiceprint would sometimes show random texture data
Added: 3d Text announcements of song name. To enable this feature you must add <allowd3d9ex>false</allowd3d9ex> to the advancedsettings.xml. Please note, setting allowd3dex to false may impact the stability of XBMC. Announcements are off by default so you also have to turn them on in the Vortex settings.

Example of 3d text announcement (looks better when its movingBig Grin)

I really like this plugin. Nod

Feature requests:
1. in the next version, could you have it so that it is a constant preset..
(Time Between Presets = 0 / Off ? )
So if you choose the Singing Skull he sticks around for the whole playlist Laugh
2. One Preset per song - once a new song starts, a new preset starts

Thanks for your efforts!

Unfortunately, the awesome Vortex visualization does not work with the latest nightly builds.
The log shows the following error:

12:55:29 T:4540 M:2471124992 WARNING: Win32DllLoader::ResolveExport - Unable to resolve: C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\visualization.vortex\Vortex_win32dx.vis ADDON_Create
12:55:29 T:4540 M:2471124992 ERROR: Unable to resolve exports from dll C:\Users\XXX\AppData\Roaming\XBMC\addons\visualization.vortex\Vortex_win32dx.vis

Build: Platform: Windows 7, 64-bit (WoW) Service Pack 1 build 7601. Built on May 13 2011 (Git:20110513-d3f3e7a, compiler 1600)

Is there a way to get this to work again ? *hope*

Thanks,
Raptylos

fix and recompile the add-on. we renamed some symbols to avoid global namespace pollution (and eventually clashes).

Yep, I'll sort it out and also have a look at adding the feature requests.

This visualization addon rocks! i really like it... but it could be amazing to have options to adjust the sound triggers, because the sound response is not very accourate and in sync with the music (i've tried with electronic and dance music, because it's easy to see differences between bass pumping sound and high frecuencies sounds, like hi-hats and so on)
