XBMC Live installed to internal HDD
#1
I am new to linux so pardon me if I am asking a dumb question.

I am trying to install XBMC live on a machine I have just finished upgrading. I can boot the live cd with out issue but when I try to go through the install process it doesn't seem to be finding the HDD. I have a 250GB disk which shows up in bios just fine. All i get is a screen titled, "Partition Disks" with three options. Configure iSCSI Volumes, Undo Changes to Partitions, and Finish partitioning and write changes to disk. There is no where for me to create a new partition, delete an old, or anything else like there is in windows.

Any advice would be appreciated.

What format does the partition have?
You could try to test if the HD is shown from within a Windows setup process.
Maybe deleting the partition might also help.

I got this to work by setting sata mode in the bios to combination versus native. It said combination mode is better for older operating systems. Strange but it worked and I am up and running. I had the same issue with the ubuntu live cd. I ended up going with Ubuntu anyway after i got it working because i decided that i wanted an OS with a UI underneath.

Thanks,
