[AppleTV2]HOWTO Enable BT Keyboard support
#91
Asking here isn't the best since XBMC just uses btstack, it's not part of our package.

A cursory google search reveals this link which appears to be what ATV2 is using:
http://code.google.com/p/btstack/

Info on there will probably be able to point you in a better direction.

in the issues i see that is already reported and in the to-do list, thanks keith for the link

(i suggest to add to the ios faq that only the uk layout is usable at the moment, no so good pay 70€ for an 'apple wireless kyeyboard' and discover that many keys are wrong)

I finally received the BT keyboard from focalprice that a number of you are using and got it to work. However, it seems to stop working after a few minutes and I'm wondering if it is going into a powersave mode or something.

Anyone else experience this?

Thanks.

Hi,

is there any way to get the Logitech diNovo mini to work with the ATV 2 completely? I mean using for example also the trackpad while browsing the internet with the couch surfer, that is included in the newest atv flash black beta?

Can someone tell me whether the enter or return key initiates a search within xbmc or would I still have to navigate to the done key on the virtual keyboard?

Just got my Apple Wireless Keyboard paired up - working near flawlessly thus far.

No - when searching, pressing "Enter" will select whatever letter is currently highlighted. To initiate the search, you need to navigate to the "Done" button and then press Enter.

Would be nice if there was a fix for this though.

can someone confirm if I'm installing nightly build the correct way?

1.ssh [email protected].......
2.wget http://xbmc.hadm.net/latest_atv2.deb
3.dpkg -i latest_atv2.deb
4.rm latest_atv2.deb

also, to check the build i'm running
1. settings>>right click remote>>system info
2. this is what's showing "XBMC PRE-11.0 Git:20110722-e825052 (Compiled: Jul 22 2011)"

am i doing it right? TIA

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies:
ch.ringwald.keyboard-atv: Depends: ch.ringwald.btstack but it is not installable

then this one...

I've tried both SSH and NiTO installations I still cant get a keyboard to connect. I can pair my keyboard & BTStack is able to find it, however when I select the keyboard it gets stuck on connecting and nothing happens. I'm trying this on the following keyboards:

Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Keyboard 8000
Logitech diNovo Mini

What am I missingHuh?
