Need to replace my revo 1600
#1
I'm moving out of my apartment and my roommate is keeping the revo 1600 that we bought and giving me $100 for his part of it. We had xbmc live on it and it worked great.

Now i need to buy a replacement xbmc device. I have my old xbox1 in my bed room but I'm gonna need something for the living room. It looks like the revo 1600 is not available anymore. What are the other boxes around that are around the same price ($200) Is apple tv2 a good choice right now I feel like there may be some bugs to work out. Thanks

Many of us are looking for the same thing.
When I bought my 1600 I was able to get it for $161 at Bestbuy after a 10% off coupon...wish I had grabbed three!
I think thats why the ATV2 news is so exciting. $99, low power, small, quiet.
The only issue for me is needing a Mac to jailbreak it or I would already own a few....I'm still also running a couple of original xbox's that need replacing.

Anyway, heres a thread with some pretty low cost alternatives:

If you want to go this route I got an atv1 off craig's list for 100 you could probably talk the price down, plus the cost of a crystal hd card. Works great for my bedroom setup.
Proper Usage of a debug log

And where does that leave XBMC and your skin if people are not prepared to work and save for a decent computer, but yet they expect everything to be handed on a plate to them.

The future needs to happen and it needs to now.
I'm not a newbie. I always act this dumb.

Yeah you won't find anything quite as cheap. You can build up a small HTPC with a low power dual core proc for around $250-300 if you part it out on newegg. You'll see numerous builds in the hardware section of this forum.

That Revo 1600 was definitely a unique deal... I too wish I had bought a few of them.
