I think I got it but need some help understanding.

rtmp://feed.zapcommunication.netdna-cdn.com/live/47175/live003 <--- this link works as a n/w stream in VLC and as an strm/m3u file in XBMC.

why and when do we have to use a URL in this format [rtmp://feed.zapcommunication.netdna-cdn.com/live/47175 playpath=live003 swfUrl="http://releases.flowplayer.org/swf/flowplayer-3.2.7.swf" pageURL="http://www.uecf.net/bibletv.htm" swfVfy=true live=true]?

The stream is found at http://www.aatw.com/watch-live/?channel=clubland I have tried copying this into a strm file but am not sure I'm loading it from the correct place or if I have missed arguments or anything out. I am totally new to all this and would be so grateful for the chance to learn about this subject.

Many Thanks in Advance,

this is the good link but everytime you open their web page you generate new token , so technically you neeed to use URL Helper3,42 to get link, use fresh token and implement this link to xbmc and Clubland will work,

rtmp://wos.cr2.streamzilla.xlcdn.com/live/_definst_/ playpath=sz=AATW=clublandtv?token=3d58829016731e9092fbf2e3d17999ca&time=53bb75e9 swfUrl=http://www.aatw.com/player/mediaplayer.swf pageUrl=http://www.aatw.com/watch-live/?channel=clubland

Hi all.
I am sorry if my question was already answered before, unfortunately these are very long threads and it's easy to miss something.

Is there anywhere a comparative list of the different methods/add-ons to watch live TV on xbmc?
I am just a regular user, and I found so references to s many different methods and it's hard for me to choose without having to try them all. As I wouldn't like to re-invent the wheel, do you know if anyone ever put together such a comparative table?

I saw: filmon, pseudotv, on-tapp.tv, FTV, tvcatchup, mashup, Navi-X, etc, plus of course the approach you are describing in this thread...

I would like to know some standard facts, like:
  • list of channels available
  • EPG
  • stability/reliability
  • possibility to add additional channels
  • any geo limitation
  • ...

or, if such table does not exisit, can you suggest any wiki where I can start such page?

thanks!!

Certainly not the XBMC wiki if you want to include navix and/or mashup.

If I have helped you or increased your knowledge, click the 'thank user' button to give thanks :) (People with less than 20 posts won't see the "Thank you" button.)

so do you have any suggestion? I would surely like to include all possible addons/methods, at least for information purpose.

Any other high traffic site you can suggest?

Ask where you got them from. It wasn't from the XBMC Foundation or any of its sites which end in xbmc.org.

Hi, I've tried to follow the procedure above to create a stream, it looks to me like it is a simple http stream, but the .strm file I created did not play well.

Can you guide me please?

The live player is the following: http://www.tvm.com.mt/live/

And the stream URL is http://tvm.23video.com/v.ihtml/player.ht...autoPlay=1

Since it's just an HTTP stream, I simply added the URL into the .strm file. Did I miss something?

Thanks in advance

I have read through this thread a few times but I am having trouble adding my church live web stream into xbmc.
The webstream url is http://www.nlacwebcast.org/live.html

When i view source this is what i get.
Code:
<html>
<head>
<title>
NLAC Webcast
</title>
<script type="text/javascript" src="http://nlacwebcast.org/flowplayer-3.2.6.min.js"></script>
</head>
<body>
<a style="display:block;width:520px;height:385px" id="player"></a>
<script>
    flowplayer("player", "http://nlacwebcast.org/flowplayer-3.2.7.swf", {

        clip: {
            url: 'livestream',
            live: 'true',
            provider: 'rtmp'
        },

        // streaming plugins are configured under the plugins node
        plugins: {

            rtmp: {
                url: 'http://nlacwebcast.org/flowplayer.rtmp-3.2.3.swf',

                netConnectionUrl:
                    'rtmp://stream.s14.cpanelservices.com/nlaclive/'
            }
        }
    });
</script>
</body>
</html>

I tried converting it to:
Code:
rtmp://stream.s14.cpanelservices.com/nlaclive/
swfUrl="http://nlacwebcast.org/flowplayer.rtmp-3.2.3.swf"
pageURL="www.nlacwebcast.org/live.html" swfVfy=true live=true

unfortunalty the .strm file will not play
I am running xbmc gothem in openelec.
any help will be greatly appreciated.

HOWEVER -- Trying to stream video from the internet to xbmc - whether it be live sports, pron or anything else - has proven to be the single most frustrating exercise in futility I have ever had the misfortune to be engaged in!
This, and all the other forums, I have searched all assume a level of knowledge that the average person new to htpc's and to xbmc in particular simply does not have. And I have not found anything approaching an explanation any where.

What was my HTPC is now simply another windows computer connected to my tv and I am now watching my locally stored videos in media player, and watching my streams in internet explorer.

I hope that some day somebody from the XBMC community will write a streaming guide in PLAIN ENGLISH.
Simply telling me to put my rtmp data into a .strm file is not a plain english guide.
It may as well be written in ancient runes.

What is the difference between a strm file and a playlist?
WTF is rtmp data and where do I find it?
And when I have my .strm file what do I do with it?
What does "make sure you are not in library mode" mean?
How do I check?
If I am in "library mode", how do I get out of it?
And once I've figured all that out, how do I play my .strm?
Is there a different way of doing things if my videos are pre-recorded and stored on a site (eg YouTube-style) vs a live stream (eg live sports)?

I was in your shoes about 1 year ago when I didn't even know about xbmc. But I taught myself how to code streams and decode them from live transmissions.

It took some time but I wanted it so bad that it didn't bother me. I hated regex but eventually taught myself that also

Are you looking for specific steams that I may help u with?

Hi all, I am a newbie to XBMC. I am running Gotham and it is working great. I have been trying for 2 weeks now to stream few live feeds with no success. I can load Google Chrome, and view the stream from there, but I would prefer to watch it in XBMC.

The URLs I am trying to stream is:

http://www.africawebtv.com/2013/12/tfm-s...irect.html

http://www.africawebtv.com/2013/10/rts1-...-live.html

http://www.africawebtv.com/2013/11/rdv-tv-senegal.html

http://www.africawebtv.com/2013/11/teles...irect.html

I have made a strm file with that link--does not work.

If anyone can help,I would appreciate it. I know that I will understand it if I see one example.

Thanks all for your help.

Good Morning,

Ever Since the removal of Sportsdevil from git I have been trying, Hopelessly i might add to create my own streams.

I have tried countless ways and methods, the easiest way I have had some luck with other links is using the m3u extension.

but for the life of me i just CANT get this link to work

I'm using URL helper and the working media file I get is this;

rtmp://rtmp.zerocast.tv:1935/live<playpath>3GdoAHRAxgZNzmQZL29l <swfUrl>http://cdn.zerocast.tv/player.swf <pageUrl>http://zerocast.tv/embed.php?a=83&id=&width=658&height=430&autostart=true&strech=

so as per other streams, I have created variants of the file trying to get it to work, but just end up pulling my hair out!! I create an m3u file as so;
------------------------------
example1
------------------------------
#EXTM3U $ExtFilter="RTMP"
#EXTINF:-1,stream
rtmp://rtmp.zerocast.tv:1935/live playpath=3GdoAHRAxgZNzmQZL29l swfUrl=http://cdn.zerocast.tv/player.swf pageUrl=http://zerocast.tv/embed.php?a=83&id=&width=658&height=430&autostart=true&strech=

--------------------------------
Example 2
-------------------------------
#EXTM3U
#EXTINF:-1,stream
rtmp://$OPT:rtmp-raw=rtmp://rtmp.zerocast.tv:1935/live playpath=3GdoAHRAxgZNzmQZL29l swfUrl=http://cdn.zerocast.tv/player.swf pageUrl=http://zerocast.tv/embed.php?a=83&id=&width=658&height=430&autostart=true&strech=

----------------------------------
Example 3
----------------------------------
#EXTM3U $ExtFilter="RTMP"
#EXTINF:-1,stream
rtmp://$OPT:rtmp-raw=rtmp://rtmp.zerocast.tv:1935/live playpath=3GdoAHRAxgZNzmQZL29l swfUrl=http://cdn.zerocast.tv/player.swf pageUrl=http://zerocast.tv/embed.php?a=83&id=&width=658&height=430&autostart=true&strech=

I would really appreciate help with this conundrum as its driving me mad!!

thankyou in advance
