Black Screen on SOME videos
#1
The majority of my videos play perfect, however I have found a few that are unable to properly play - I get full sound but a black screen when I play them; I found this when playing a few videos from the add-on for AnimeFTW.tv as well (but alot of those play fine too). The odd thing (to me) is that if I click back to the home menu, the video will suddenly be visible and play in the background under the menu but as soon as I close the menu the screen goes black again

that happens to me too, U have the same problem with some videos , i think is related to XviD codec. i can play many other movies in mkv format without problems.

The debug file shows nothing out of the norm.
i have installed a couple of games that may installs some patches and codecs.

any news on this issue or any workarounds? it is very annoying

thing i have tested :

1.- reinstall xbmc
2.- reinstall directx updates
3.- reinstall xvid codecs from the home page.
4.- uninstall the games

pd: i have installed the lastest video drivers from ati home page, 11.1

specs and notes:
ATI Radeon HD5750x2 on CF
i7 930 2.8
6gb ram
windows 7 ultimate 64bit

debug log : http://pastebin.com/NHndxP7L

i made xvid movies play.. it seems to be a problem with xvid movies and pixel shader render method. you have to select Software mode in Preferences>Video>Playback>Render.
i dont know why , but any other video format works fine with hardware render method.
