[Live] MCE remote too fast
#1
Hi. In xbmcfreack live maverick v3 my classical MCE IR remote the responding is too fast: when I press a botton once is like pressing twice or three times. Where is the config file (there are a lot of remote in lirc folder, what type the system use?)? How to set the realise time?

Thanks

This is what you need to do:

exiles Wrote:okay if anyone is getting duplicate key presses from the ir remote it’s the new kernel you need “echo none +lirc > /sys/class/rc/rc0/protocols” in the “/etc/rc.local” file for you system. killed all doubled presses for me.

Thankyou very much. Solved with this trick.

who's got the quick fix for the opposite problem (not in the latest kernel) of having to press the MCE IR remote several times / very hard to get xbmc to do stuff, even though the IR receiver light shows it is receiving the signal when you press?
Mythbuntu Maverick 64-bit Mythtv & XBMC E6300, GT430, Antec Minuet 350, 2GB DDR-800 Ram, Gigabyte G-31M-E2SL, Yamaha RXv-1800 over HDMI @ 1080p to Sony Bravia 55" LCD 100HZ, Focal-JM Labs 826/806 speakers & Velodyne CHT-12R sub... "mmm, nice."

Just installed the same xbmcfreak on my Acer Revo 1600 and came across the same problem as OP.

I followed this suggestion and it solved the issue.
Quote:I had the same problems with a Harmony/MCE remote(double key presses and some keys not working). I tracked down the problem to the module ir_rc6_decoder. I fixed it by putting “rmmod -f ir_rc6_decoder” into my rc.local file. For some reason if you blacklist the module it still loads so you have to remove it every time.

Yes. I wish that suggestion would have been posted much earlier. I gave up on all of those methods and decided to go with OpenELEC.tv (a much lighter XBMC flavor).

XBMC Freak essentially includes 2 LIRC modules (one in kernel) and they repeat key presses. Stare

Anyone have any more suggestions on this?
Adding that line to the /etc/rc.local stops the remote working altogether.
Without it, I can move one row at a time with the remote, unless i hold it longer. And more importantly, the OK/Select button does nothing.
Used XBMCfreaks maverick live cd v3.

I did up, down, left, right, ok

Several attempts and just as many reboots, finally works.
