Hello all,
after installing XBMC 10.0 on my IBM T30 Laptop running Windows XP Pro SP3, it just starts with an error and black screen.
The log states something about "Unable to init rendering system" My previous installation with XBMC 9.11 worked fine. What can be the problem?

In the future, please post a full debug log on pastebin.com, and then simply provide the link here. As for the problem, my guess is that you're simply running hardware that's too old. The Mobility Radeon 7500 only supports DirectX 7. The fact that it ran at all on the previous release seems like something of a miracle. My recommendation is to either update your hardware or downgrade your software.

With that said, I'm entirely open to being corrected.

Update edit: CrystalP informs me that there may either be a problem with Pixel Shader 2.0 support in your video card or, during the Dharma update, certain support was lost for older cards, because neither he nor any of the testers actually have access to a DirectX 7 card anymore (the down sides to open source development).
