I've been using XBMC Live (from xbmcfreak as below) with a new asrock ION3d which has a remote with in-built IR receiver - this sits behind the front grill of the machine and is quite terrible at picking up the remote.
So I went and bought the Hauppauge Media Center Remote Control Kit with the USB IR receiver. The remote works fine when pointing at the Asrock in-built reciever, but how do I enable the Hauppauge USB receiver? Do I need to do a fresh install of the normal xbmclive (or another xbmcfreak version) or is there some linux magic I can do to enable the USB receiver (noting that I know nothing about linux).
Cheers!
Specs:
Asrock ION3D
XBMCFreak Nuvoton 10.00 v2
XBMC 10.0 r35648 complied dec 17 2010
Linux 2.6.32-27-generic #49-Ubuntu SMP Wed Dec 1...
edit: just used the xbmcfreak msremote v1.0 version worked fine.
