Im new to this and would like to know how to add Music and get the library experience.
I first added source by adding SMB of the folder (in this case itunes folder)
But when i try go library mode - the button is greyed out.
Whats the best way to add music?

You need to scan the source you've added. If you go into music and select your added source (itunes folder) hold the menu button and then when the sub menu pops up select "scan item to library"

Quick word of warning though: If your library contains .m4a music files then scanning is likely to freeze up and crash XBMC when it reaches these. See this thread:

if all your tracks are mp3s you should be fine though

select your source and hold menu button ... context menu will pop up - select "scan item to library" ... after that the database button will be clickable.
