Booting into XBMC
#1
Hi,

I wonder if there's any way to get ATV2 to boot directly into XBMC? It'd be a nice feature!

Cheers,
Jens

Agreed. Although the feature would probably be one of the jailbreak, and not something that can be added to XBMC itself.

No, not now. Not in the future. XBMC for ATV2 is a frontrow plugin, and as such we live by frontrow rules.

Is it not possible to run a script at start-up to run the XBMC once the frontrow is up? I am not developer so I don't understand what is and is not possible.

Probably, but that'll have to be done at the jailbreak level. The XBMC is a plugin for Lowtide and wouldn't have access to anything above that level. So it's probably out of the scope of development for the developer. At least for the time being. Luckily davilla, one of the principal developer for XBMC on iOS replied directly so you know it's not currently on their radar.

Perhaps someone else in the community can figure it out.

locking because dev comments are being ignored. this will not ever happen, there's just no way to do it.
