For whatever reason I have been wanting a remote extender for years... but had not bought.

I just received my Microsmith Hot Link XL. Absolutely fantastic !

Cinch to set up
The Response time is instant - no delay
The range is very impressive - virtually any direction I pointed the remote in, it worked
Startling flashing blue light to indicate receipt of signal you can take or leave (I like it)

I hope that this helps someone. Now to move my receiver and HTPC.

is this the same thing as a repeater? i believe it is. These things are awsome because it allows you to relocate all of your equiment into a closet or the attic and still be able to control it.

Yes, it is. Absolutely great. I connected a 25 ft hdmi cable, linked to a 12 ft HDMI cable to my receiver... awesome.
