Would this hardware suffice to run XBMC for windows on Win7 32bit with 4gb RAM

I need to be able to play 720p as well as 1080p.

Yes, it will run XBMC. You need to be more specific...

Do you plan to stream 1080p? 720? SD?

It does not have the best GPU, so I am unsure the limitations and if it would fit your needs. How expensive is that? There may be better options in the same price range.

I would skip it - it's old hardware wise (min. x4500HD for Intel integrated) and meant to be a digital signage player. Also it needs a socket P processor which isn't readily available.

I hear you. We do a lot of digital signage stuff and I have one of these lying around so I thought that I would give it a try.

Could stick a broadcom decoder card in it and should be good to go.

Eh, Broadcoms are nice but lack robust decoding. I would just look elsewhere...
