I've just finished installing and configuring XBMC (latest release).

I configured it has I always configured XBMC before but for a reason that I can't find, my MP4 video won't play fullscreen. They seem to be compressed on both side (horizontal & vertical) resulting in being letterboxed on all 4 sides.

For exemple, the movie 10,000BC has a 2" black border on both left and right side in XBMC. But the same movie play perfectly in WMC7, VLC or MPC-HC.

MKV or other type of media play perfectly so the overscan isn't the problem here.

Any idea?

It's because the codec has a flag telling what the aspect ratio is, and the container also has a flag telling what the aspect ratio is. These are clashing. XBMC is choosing one, other software another. There's no right or wrong as there's no guarantee which one should be taken.
