Just like the title says. When i stream movies from my xbmc over my home network (its hard wired between the 2) to my Desktop PC the movies play great. But when i add a network source to xbmc to stream from desktop pc to xbmc it plays like total crap, completely unwatchable same exact movie. 720p mkv movie. I dont mind transfering files over the network but if i could simply stream them reliably it would be one less step.
Any ideas why this is?
Hardware info:
My desktop is a custom pretty powerful intel core 2 quad q9400 with 8gb ddr2 ram and about 1.8tb worth of hard drives attached, as well as a gigabyte MB with easytune 6 running to overclock automatically as needed (never needs to but anyhow) and its running win 7 ultimate 64 bit.
My xbmc is a gateway laptop with decent specs for its age MD 2614u - Turion X2 mobile processor 2.1 GHz - 15.6″ - 3 GB Ram - 250 GB HDD, and runs only, utorrent, xbmc, and event ghost, on a fresh install of win 7 ultimate 64 bit. This also has 2 exteranl 1TB HD attached via usb.
Any ideas why this is?
