I load xbmc into my iphone 4 and played a video, but in the iphone I don't find it functional at all, the screen is to small and it is very hard to control it.

I have an ipad 2 that is jailbroken with XBMC. It plays 1080p MKV video flawlessly.

Looking forward to better HDMI API support and better touch screen control on iPad2, otherwise nice to have a proper media player on 64GB iPad2.

I put it on my wife's iPad 2 last night. I was a little sad about the HDMI issues, but otherwise its great to see my old friend on a new platform.

XBMC on my iPad2 works great, especially with the new "Touched" skin designed for the iPad that you can get on these forums here:

1080p video in both mkv and mp4 containers works flawlessly on my iPad2. No stuttering or jumps that I can see.

I'll tell you one of the best uses I now have for my iPad2 with XBMC. It's learning the Piano. I have all the lesson videos from a 14-disc dvd series called "Learn and Master Piano" stored as video-files on one of my Linux PCs. With the iPad, I can easily place the iPad2 up into the sheet-music holder on my musical keyboard alongside the course's workbook and view both the lessons streamed from my Linux box on the iPad2, while following the workbook and playing the Piano at the same time. It makes doing the lessons very convenient.

XBMC is definitely the reason to jailbreak the iPad2. No more syncing/converting. It's so nice now to be able to lay-down in my bedroom and watch some videos on the iPad2 that are stored on my Linux PC in the rec-room downstairs without doing any sort of cumbersome transcoding solution.
