I have a ton of movies and I really would like a view that only shows HD movies. Is that possible in aeon65?

you can create a smartplaylist with video resoultion greater than 719...
Then you have can add this playlist to your favorites...
custome home menu for hd movies can be made by MQ2...

To keep it short: No, you do not have to add every movie...that´s why it´s called smart...you add a rule and depending on this rule the playlist is created...no matter if there are new files or not...this will always show all HD movies

all you need to do after is add it to your favourites unless the skin supports adding playlists directly, from there you can add it to the home menu there are already videos on youtube showing you how to do this in Aeon although different versions might do it slightly different from each other
