When a scraper can't pick the right movie title, xbmc will place a video preview image as a thumbnail or nothing at all. Of course xbmc gives the ability to pick the movie title manually through the context menu. You can also choose a thumbnail then.

But in some cases I'm not able to replace the video preview image. I can choose a new thumbnail (context menu -> movie information -> get thumb) and it will show in the movie information pane. But it won't 'stick' to the movie. I'm using file view.

I had this problem with xbmc 10 (and possibly before) and now with a pre-10.1 build (I'm using openelec rc3 with ATV1, not sure which xbmc pre-10.1 build it is using).

Does anyone know how to solve this thumbnail problem?

I have the same problem. The file itself will update the thumbnail, but the folder will stay as it was first found. The only solution I found was to rename the folder-name and refresh the information.

For example E:\movies\Wall-E\wall-e.mkv -> E:\movies\WallE\wall-e.mk
You can change it back to the orignal folder-name afterwards and refresh again.
