[Linux] Scanning TV Shows (tv database?) Causing XBMC to freeze
#1
I've tried cleaning the database but that hasn't helped. I've had to turn off automatic scanning on boot, I'm using XBMC Live Dharma.

Any thoughts?

lots more info will illicit a greater response Wink

which version of xbmc? which OS? hardware specs? and a debug log would be nice Smile

but my bet is on your system being slow/or on a wireless connection? could be getting dropped packets. or just your TV shows folder is badly organised... should be TVSHOW(folder) > SEASON(folder) > EPISODE(file)

Version: XBMC Live 10 Dharma
OS: Ubuntu Server (.. installed from live)
HW: Dell 755 Small Form Factor with 4GB of RAM & Asus EAH4350 Silent Radeon HD 4350 512MB PCI-E w/ DVI, HDMI, Low Profile

It's wired directly into a gigabit Cisco 100/1000 switch with Jumbo Frames enabled, movies play flawlessly I'm only currently having an issue with the TV Database scanning causing the whole server to freeze until I reboot it (waited 30 minutes one time). As for the organization, I use the above format.

I'll attach a debug log when I get home, I was just wondering if it would be easy to remove the database and rescan everything.

Thanks
