how to edit /usr/share files on crystalbuntu
#1
Hi,

I want to edit the playercorefactory.xml at /urs/share/xbmc/system/playercorefactory.xml but it I cannot edit or even transfer a file into the folder. Is there a way to unlock it so I can add an external player to the file

you can sudo, but it's not the way you should do it. rather you should stick a file in ~/.xbmc/userdata with your new stuff. the files in /usr/share will be overwritten on an update, and thus you lose your changes. the file in home won't be touched, and is loaded additively...
