XBMC creates the video database file itself when you add files to your library.
So, it's something like this--
-Go to "Videos" on your home screen
-hit "Add source"
-Select the directory with all of your tvshows or movies in it.
-hit okay
It will prompt you to "Set Content" -- which is basically choosing the type of media you are adding so that it knows whether to get the info from a movie database or a tv database... choose your type of content, and depending how you have your media set up, use the options below. For example, I have my videos in folders, so I select "use folder names for lookups" and "scan recursively".
Hit "ok"
Wait while your video library is populated.
