Hi all,
I am new here and loving what XBMC can do !
Starting reading loads and now have a better grounding as to what I need etc but would be grateful for some help.
My main requirement is to stream DVD movies/TV episodes/photos and music from my ReadyNas Duo to the XBMC box.
I would like the box to automatically scrape relevant info such as artwork, synopsis and cast from the internet and present them in a slick and pleasing interface - which I understand XBMC does wonderfully !
Playback would be via HDMI to a 32" HDTV - no surround sound system output required.
Hardware:
Which would be the better option -
a) Mini-ITX - Nvidia Ion
Zotac ION-ITX-A with Dual Core Atom N330 Motherboard Dual Core 1.6GHz Atom N330;
2GB DDR2 800MHz Memory;
No HDD/SSD - would use XBMC LIve on USB memory stick
or
b) Acer Revo 3700 - NVidia Ion 2
Nvidia Ion 2 with Intel Atom D525 1.8GHz
2GB DDR3 800MHz Memory
160GB HDD
Software
I assume that I can install XBMC Live onto either of these machines and will get all the features of a full blown XBMC, be able to customise skins, install add-ons etc ?
Are there any limitations to XBMC Live over a separate install of Ubuntu and XBMC ?
All help gratefully received !
