Not able to play movies on ATV2
#1
Hi.

I have purchased an ATV2 today. I went through the jail break procedures, and the NitoTV install. I set my Movie directory. XBMC downloaded the artwork.

But when I go to play a movie, the system shows "Working..." constantly, then after a couple of mins, the screen flashes, then reboots.

Any ideas.

OK, I checked the version ... my ATV is on 4.1.1. How do I get it to update to 4.2.1 ?

Thanks.

Apple have weirdly named firmware, 4.1.1 is 4.2.1...

Don't upgrade.

Are you trying to playback via wireless or Ethernet, how is your media being accessed, SMB, UPnP? what format are the files your trying to playback?

Provide a mediainfo dump of one of the files that causes this behavior.

Also, how is your media encoded? I couldn't play any of my content at first either; then I realized I was using ISO's, which apparently aren't yet compatible? So I started using AnyDVD + Handbrake to transcode. The process is super easy and there's an ATV2 preset in Handbrake, so you really don't even have to set any parameters.
