Hi all,

Just installed this with the Live CD with all of the default options. Hopefully I have all the info required to get some help.
I can't play any videos. I can view all of my videos from my WIN7 share and all the info loads correctly but nothing plays. Just black screen with an x then back to the home menu. Also tried playing the trailer, same issue and copied 1 video (with FTP) directly to the xbmc machine with the same results.

My setup/Specs are:
XBMC 10.1 Git:Unknown (Compiled : Mar 9 2011) I justed downloaded the iso and installed from there.
Operating system: Linux 2.6.32-29-generic #58-Ubuntun SMP Fri Feb 11 ...
CPU: Intel Pentium Dual CPU E2140 @ 1.60GHz
Free memory: 3123MB
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 4300/4500 Series
Screen resolution: 1280 x [email protected]
Open GL version: 3.2.9756 Compatibility Profile Context

Oh and connected to my receiver with HDMI.


Can some one let me know what I need to fix to get this working or what other information is required to get this corrected.

I have the same issue, can solve instaling latest ATI drivers: http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_...tion_Guide

Another workaround is:
- Enable "Sync Playback to Display" in settings. The video will play very stuttering.
- Stop It (X)
- Disable this option and try to play video again
- Video plays flawlessly.

Thanks for the tips. I will try the work around first to see if it is the same issue and then try the fix if that works.
