Processes that can be killed on the AppleTV
#1
I'm currently writing a plugin that relies on rtmp streams feeding an flv to XBMC, given the low power of the AppleTV2 there are some pretty large CPU spikes when playing flash video, which in turn causes buffering issues on anything but the lowest bitrate for the streams.. Are there any processes or other optimisations I can do to the ATV2 to get that little bit more grunt to process the data?

I use the ATV2 exclusively for XBMC so there is no need for many of the services operating, but I'm not sure what is critical to the operation of the device or how to go about disabling some of the services.

No worries, I figured I'd ask just to make sure. Thanks for the quick response.
