You don't mention which version of XBMC you installed on your iPad2, but simply put, the mysql versions must be the same in order to share them. I run the nightlies on a couple of Macs, a PC, multiple ATVs and an iPad2. They all work fine sharing a mysql db from my NAS, but it does require updating to the latest nightly across the board most times.

I usually do an export before updating so that if my database gets trashed I can simply do an import to fix it.

My Live install is 10.10, my iPad install is 10.0.9. I tried installing the nightly on the iPad, but it seems to be the same version. Any suggestions? I'm thinking I'll just reimport my library and use upnp...

Maybe a dumb question, but how do I install the nightly on the iPad(2)? I installed the official build trough Cydia. I imagine that i should copy the .deb to the iPad. And then?

You need to install 'Aptitude' from Cydia. Then you can use the command 'dpkg -i package.deb' to install
