Multichannel audio How to play

I have DVD-A and into what file format I should convert for playing? Is it 6-ch FLAC, WAV ...? I converted to 6-ch 24 bit FLAC and WAV but I didn't hear in back channels anything.

What is right way for listening multichannel audio?
From video, I hear AC3 and DTS. Should I convert 6-ch WAV file to AC3?

I converted my DVD-As to 6 channel flac files. When I tried to play them all I got was the rear channels playing through my 2 fronts. Turns out it doesn't work with optical SPDIF but supposedly it does if you send the audio via HDMI. I now have my excuse to buy the Outlaw 978 when it comes out. Wink

try this:
right click (or press 'c') on the file, select 'Play using..' and select 'DVDPlayer'.

afaik the built-in audioplayer does not support multi-channel audio.
Do not PM or e-mail Team-Kodi members directly asking for support.
Always read the Forum rules, Kodi online-manual, FAQ, Help and Search the forum before posting.

Thanks!
Played only for 2 speakers.
However when these file played in other players in Ubuntu I heard wrong channel mapping over all 6 speakers.

Alsa remap-surround make pass troughs to right channel but is it working only for XBMC?
