Stop auto start

How do I stop auto boot into XBMC so I can get into linux.

The HTPC I bought boots into XBMC on start up and how do I by pass this, I dont want to disable it forever just want to boot in to Linux to have a look around.

So far have picture but on sound, oh the joy of the first day with new, to me, tech

Ok just thinking I should just exit out of XBMC, im an idiot for not thinking of that

Hm, exiting xbmc should indeed do that but in some versions it does not.... There is a loop running auto restarting when it crashes and sometimes the exit flag does not seem to work. Should be easy to fix but I haven't looked into it.

Do you really need to stop xbmc or only access the command line?

To stop there is a stop command not sure but perhaps:
sudo /etc/init.d/xbmc-live stop

To remove autostart uninstall xbmc-live or remove xbmc from grub command.

To access command line:
CTRL+ALT+F1

or connect over ssh with putty from windows
