I don't need XBMC to load via quiet or ghost mode, I just want it to be the first program that loads up when Windows 7 starts. Right now it boots straight into windows media center.
Also, I would like to be able to switch back and forth between the two programs because I am still going to record live tv shows with windows media center but everything else with XBMC. Any suggestions on the best way to do this? Thanks.

Put a shortcut to XBMC in C:\Users\*logged on user*\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup
If you are using a remote, you could program a button for alt-tab using something like EvenGhost, that way you could switch between the two programs.

What I do is to configre the green button on my remote to send ctrl-shift-W, then configure this as the shortcut key for the XBMC icon. This means when I press the green button it runs XBMC, of if XBMC is still running it returns the focus to XBMC. That allows you to switch back to XBMC from WMC. A similar trick may work for switching from XBMC to WMC.

But how do I do this in Eventghost? It has got to be one of the most confusing programs I have ever used.

Do you have to use Eventghost? Why not just use an eHome remote instead, then you can easily configure any button to do anything you want, including send alt-tab.

I have a windows media center remote. I'd like to remap a couple of buttons to do esc, c, i, and alt-tab.....will the media center remote plugin do that....then I could avoid eventghost.
