Microsoft official MCE remote support in XBMC for Xbox?
#16
If it doesn't work in XBMC then your hardware is probably broken, have you tried it into Microsoft original Xbox dashboard? or other homebrew dashboards such as EvoX/EvolutionX, Avalaunch, or UnleashX?

XBMC does not use own own code for the IR reciever, it relies on Microsoft library from their XDK.

Okay, no I havent tried it in the original dashboard but I can try that ... but otherwise no ... the hardware isnt broken, it works with no problem in windows. But isn't it probable that there's no support of it by MS since it's not a product for xbox originally ?
And let me just emphasize that its the MCE-IR-receiever (USB) and not the XBOX original one....

No, that does not work with XBMC for Xbox, ...nor will it ever work on the Xbox unless you or someone else submit a patch.

Allright .. so this question has obviously been up earlier... sorry about re-asking it then... So this problem can only be solved if someone writes a patch to xbmc... is that correct understood ?

Yes, no one of the current Team-XBMC developer are willing to spend time on it as the effort required is not worth the reward for them personally (as they all already have the original Xbox DVD-kit Remote from Microsoft which was designed for the Xbox), so someone else with Assembly and C/C++ programming skills would have dig into the source code and submit a code patch.
