Full Version: Is getting wireless working in XBMC Live (10.4) even worth it?

Hi all,

I'm currently setting up an ASUS EeeBox eb1501p.

Not having touched Linux before, it's certainly been a trip. Installing hardware seems mostly trial and error which is why i wanted to ask those in the now whether it's even worth me bothering to get the wireless Hardware working.

The thing is I stream very high quality 1080p over my home network, so even if I got the wireless working, would the adaptor be able to cope with that kind of bitrate?

I do have a wireless N network, but I'm still sceptical as to whether high quality 1080p would play smoothly.

Thanks in advance.
I don't have any problem streaming HD content over my wireless N.

What do you understand by "very high quality 1080p"? Crazy overkill bitrates?

The biggest example i can find is about 1920x1080 at a vbr of around 5000-9000 bitrate
