Hi all. Newbie here. Looking at poofyhairyguy's guide, I'm in group 2.5 and it mentions X2 systems. I found this at ebuyer in the UK and it looks a good bundle to me? http://www.ebuyer.com/product/260870

It contains:
* AMD Athlon 64 X2 7550
* Asrock AM2+ N68C-S UCC mATX Motherboard
* Patriot 2GB DDR2 800 Memory
* Processor Fan

So... as I have a NAS and this will be hardwired in to my home network, I am thinking that I need only to get a case with PSU (120W do it?) and a USB stick to install XBMC Live to allow me to play mkv files from NAS and use youtube and iPlayer HD streaming.

Is this a decent setup as the price is great - £83 for the above with a case (Compucase 120W mini itx for £45)

Presumably I can add a slimline blu-ray/dvd player to the above if wanted?
I just traded some old tech for a HP Slimline S3321p w/ AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+ and 2G ram.

Like it so far, seems to do fine, but haven't really pushed it to do a lot yet. I think it will do what you want, but I'm no hardware expert, I don't even play one on TV.
Ah. Just found the problem with it... no HDMI out on M/B... maybe the CPU is fine, but different board needed. Back to the search...
