I'm running xbmc on a Sony 55" 3d LED tv. 10.10 doesnt have a driver built into the kernal at this time, so instead of recompiling a new kernal, I switched to natty. As it turns out, my MSI motherboard needed Natty for the network too. /sigh.

So I have Natty running with the "additional drivers" for my Radeon 5450 (hdmi)

My XBMC install is PPA/maverick

Everything seems to run great. However, in some 720p and 1080p I get some tearing. Wife doesnt see it, but I do and it's driving me batty Smile

What's my best course of action to fix the tearing? I was going to try installing from source and compile, but I went to the wiki for linux on xbmc.org and there's nothing on installing from source. I went to this forum, and it's from 2008 and uses svn where everyone else talks about git. Looks like ALL of the docs need some updating.

So instead of following outdated/depricated instructions, I figured I'd ask here

Worked for me in 10.4
I know you've already upgraded to natty but if you decide to go back for some reason you could give a backported natty kernel a shot from this ppa: http://www.ubuntuupdates.org/ppas/37
you can try to use the unstable version of xbmc - worked for me

Code:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/unstable/ubuntu natty main
deb-src http://ppa.launchpad.net/team-xbmc/unstable/ubuntu natty main
