Hola,

I was just wondering if, because the new macbook pro's have AMD (read ati) graphics, is the previous generation macbook pro (with nvidea graphics) better for XBMC due to it's h.264 hardware decoding?

Cheers!
At the moment VDA (hardware acceleration is only available for Nvidia chipsets)

However there are efforts on the way to use VideoToolKIt instead of VDA for hardware acceleration.

My advise, just buy the latest Mac Book Pro of you choice. I you notice any frame drops playing 1080p files, adjust some settings in XMBC to reduce visual quality abit for the time beeing. (Skiploop filter)

With some luck the VideoToolKit will be available in the near future

Don't just buy a mac book pro for VDA and nvidia only
Cool, that was my logic too.

Cheers
