I'm trying to decide between Linux (Ubuntu) and Windows for XBMC and I really have no preference but since Linux has always seemed more stable/faster I'm thinking about using that but I have some questions.
1) Do I really need a custom Xorg.conf file for 24 Hz playback? I'm concerned because I plan to use different displays (via HDMI splitters, etc) and with Windows it just seems to work without any special configuration.
2) Has there been any progress with simultaneous audio output under Linux? I'd like AC3 and DTS over Toslink but PCM 2.0 channel over HDMI (at the same time...)
