Hi All,

I will say it right now. I am a linux n00b Huh Hahaha anyways I have installed the 10.1 live CD onto a USB stick and boots up great.

Only problem is not I need some network connectivity and my onboard LAN dosent seem to be recognized. Shocked

Motherboard: Intel D915GAV
NIC: Onboard LAN (intel)

When I do a ifconfig from the command line I can only see a loop back interface.

I did see some people adding the no acpi in the bios to help with the intel issues but no lucky with that either.

I have added the end of the dmesg output if it can help at all.

I also have a Dlink wireless card that doesnt really show up either.

Any help would be really appreciated. I can't wait to get this up and streaming. Thanks!

If you didnt configure the network in install no interface will show up and you have to add it manually or re-install.

If the card is really not seen by the system you need to find out if Linux have a driver for it. You do that by google or by booting a Ubuntu live desktop CD and see if it works.
Okay so making some progress here.

Just by typing ifconfig eht0 and running dhclient I could get up and running with a IP address.

The GUI thought doesnt seem to recognize I have a network though...

Thanks
Sorry should i have played around a bit more before posting. hahaha

Adding the interface in to the interfaces file and rebooted and all good.
